So I was walking into school today HEAR A SKWAK AND I LOOK UP AND AS THE FUCKING BIRD NERD I AM I GO “holy shit a sun conure” and then I go “holy shit two sun conures” and THEN I GO “oh shit they’re pet birds” so yeah. If TWO were released because I doubt both could get loose somehow they probably weren’t taken care of properly and might not be vaccinated and could cause an outbreak so if therye still there after school Im going to call animal control

The center actually sent out a volunteer and he wasnt there anymore so I dont know what happened to him but he isnt suffering anymore and thats what matters

5/1/2025 10am - The Possum

So today I was driving to school and I was passing this one-off ER place and there was this ALIVE POSSUM in the middle of the road. So I make a very dangerous U-turn, throw my hazards on and block the incoming traffic and this guy stops and pops out of the ER with a broom and we scoot him out of the road and into the grass. The possum has a giant slash down his stomach, which is clearly an evisceration and I didn't have anything I could safely transport him in so I spent the last 2-3 hours calling every wildlife center I could find and was told by all of them they can't go to the scene because not present. BUT one hotline actually texted me back and they're trying to send a guy out so I hope they get to him. I know hes not surviving but laying on the side of the road with the florida sun baking you is not a good way to go :(
